I'm sorry if I ask question that's been asked and answered million times. We all heard that # of repetitions and sets serves different principles. My questions are: Whats a difference between 1-5 reps and 8-10 reps If I lift sertain weight for 3 sets whats a difference if I lift another weight but more sets? Is there any meaning in lifting weight I can lift 20 and more reps? Thank you!!!

Less reps with more weight builds size and strength. Like around 4-6. A lot of reps with less weight "tones". But there is a lot of disagreement whether you can even really tone, I mean muscle gets broken down and rebuild, and that's it. But I know bodybuilders use light weights with high reps a couple weeks before shows so I think it does bring out a little more definition and is a break from lifting heavy. Anywho beginners should lift relatively heavy becuse it'll give them the best gains.

tone is not the right word to use, I can't remember the definition, but it means totally different to what people mean. Rather the term "improved definition" should be used.
