He spends a fair amount of time chasing and fighting criminals, I would say he could not do anything very training on his central nervous system as he simply could not recuperate from it. However, if he did have the recovery abilities I would say in addition to martial arts and agility training he would probably use CrossFit-type workouts.  Training for strength and muscular endurance at the same time would probably be a waste of training effort.  Cardiovascular exercise and Cross-fit type workouts in addition to his crime-fighting would probably be optimal.

I think I heard once that he follows a basic 3-day plan.  He likes to work in the 8 - 12 rep range for most exercises, except for deadlifts though, he does sets of 5 for those.  He also runs for about 5 miles a day.

Hey brihead, you think that Rippetoe told him how to set up his 3 day routine?  Hehe.  I can see it now....

"Don't round your back on those deadlifts!  Keep your head in the down position while squatting!"

The 3 day workout, along with running 5 miles daily seems like a reasonable plan for his goals.  He needs cardiovascular endurance, and if he  lifted as hard as a competitive lifter would he would be more likely to have an injury, and seeing as his main goal is crime-fighting he has to get the least amount of those as possible.

In Batman Begins Bruce (Christian Bale) seemed to do a whole lot of pushups.  Maybe he picks up Rippetoe's books in "Dark Knight", haha.

Stillseeingreen, are you brihead?  No.

I read a book once, I think title Batman or something like that, and in it he did 1000 pushups and 1000 crunches everyday

In Batman Begins he immediately started doing pushups when he woke up the next morning after getting the living **** beat out of him

There's your technical answer...my guess is the real Batman has a megaplex of monkey bars in the Bat Cave, drops hits of acid, and just gets creative

Bench Press = 260x3
Deadlift = 315x5 (deweighted)
Hi Rep Squat = 185x20 >>>> I don't have a proper squat rack, so I do these instead.
BB Row = 225x4 (deweighted)
Front Squat/Push Press = 180x5
Pwr Cleans = 185x5 (deweighted)
Pullups = 7

Now I will finally begin cutting. More trying to run a 5K with my sister than getting lean.

Haha, yup I think he is currently following Rippetoe's program.

That makes me think.  Who would win in a fight between Rippetoe and Batman?  I mean, Batman is and always has been my idol.  But Rippetoe is one badass dude.

But no, Batman isn't a competitive lifter.  He doesn't have time for that with the whole keeping Gotham city clean thing goin on.  He just follows his 3-day program for general strength and conditioning fitness.  He does cardio everyday though.

I heard this from my inside sources.

Come on brihead, what are those "inside sources"?

Seeing as in Batman Begins he seems to do a ton of pushups, that was when he started.  He probably orders and receives "Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training" in the mail from amazon.com in The Dark Knight, haha.
