What do I do, to stay strong but lose Fat?
-
Saturday, April 02, 2005 9:05 PM
Ok guys, right now I'm 5'9 , 245 Lbs, 17 years old. I have been working out, and I get stronger, muscles are getting bigger, and I feel better but I do almost no cardio. I want to lose about say about 35 lbs and be 210 of solid muscle. Right now , I'm eating high protein diet, getting about 200 grams a day. What I would like to know is, whats the best route for me, to get to 210 and still do my regular workout routine. I was thinking of increasing cardio to about 3 times a week ? And can I still eat my whole protein diet? The only thing I fear is that if i start doing cardio, i might get weaker? or is that just a rumour.

rumor ! only way to loose fat...cardio and nutrition. adding cardio would be a must. if you sleep fine, eat fine and train hard, you should not loose that much muscle...you wouldn't even know it and you should loose fat effectivly
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

If you're going on a cutting diet, you might lose SOME muscle- But eating plenty of protein and lifting heavy will definitely minimize the muscle loss. As long as your diet's right, you should be able to get the body you want without having to worry about muscle loss.

So u are saying that Saint should keep up his training, and his 220g of protien diet, but also slot in 3 cario sessions!!! wud'nt it be betta 2 just cud down on the protien, do less weight sessions (say 50% less), then would'nt he lose more weight?

He'd lose more weight, but he is wanting to lose fat and retain muscle, so no, cutting protein and lifting less wouldn't be better. Not to mention the added fat burning capacity of a hard workout.
-Anthony 13/2/05: 265lbs 23/5/05: 249.5lbs ^ 22/10/05: 240lbs ...hence serious cut
