Although I am not new to weight training, I am new to this board and any weight lifting board for that matter. I have seen people post something about getting ,"pumps" when working out and the quality of the "pumps," so what in the world are they?

pumps is where your blood is flowing into your muscles at high volumes, your veins and muscles swell with blood. this is why they call it pumps. more blood flow to the muscles means more oxygen, which your muscles burn for energy, and it also help deliver nutrients to the muscles.

You must have had the feeling when you have left the gym of being much bigger than you were when you went in? Thats basically it... It is to do with the increase in blood flow and nutrients to the muscles and doesn't normally last for much more than 30 minutes after my workout.
