What would you suggest? NEED HELP! - Monday, April 07, 2003 1:35 PM ( #1 )
For someone who is needing to loose maybe 10 lbs, but has cellulite all over thier body. I am asked to help a friend and I was amazed that she has VERY healthy and fit, but had cellulite all over, mainly on her legs and back.

What can she do to get rid of this. I have to admit that I have a little and would LOVE to get rid of it, but to have it all over the body evenly is hard to swallow.

Any help and suggestions would be great!

As you know fat is lost by proper eating. But it' s better to do cardio in a way where more than just the legs are working like on a stepper or bike. If you have access to one of those eliptical skier machines do that as it will work more of the body with upper body coming into play too. Thus allowing you to work harder and more efficiently.

Where you store fat is pretty much genetic [:' (] ... and unfortunately, you cannot " spot reduce" , or take fat off from a certain area. As the bodyfat % gets lower, it will get less and less noticeable.

wow..sorry to hear that... that' s a difficult one.
i think when she loses some bodyweight/fat it will help reduce the cellulite. i would recommend regular workouts of cardio and weight training. though the general thought is that u can not target train, i would still do target training in addition to the regular workout....light weight-high rep on the target areas of the legs and back. this is just for blood circulation. i would do the target training on a non workout day.
how' s is she training for it now? and any result?

As well, I'd ask about her water consumption...if she's drinking enough of it. although it won't remedy the problem, proper hydration cansmooth the skin a little. Unfortunately cellulite is also a genetic trait so, she may reduce the appearance, but if it's in her genetic code....que sera, sera

Cellulite sucks. Unfortunately it is genetic, and even some lean people still have it. Diet and exercise will dramatically reduce the appearance of the cellulite. I woul ddo a full body workout with the weights, throw in some cardio and eat clean foods. No sugar.
