What should i do with my knee problem?

I have had this knee pain for like 1 months since playing beach volleyball for like 2 days in a row(I havent done any kind of exercise for a while before this) at first I was feeling the pain everytime i moved my knee or if I was standing on that knee. Then i started playing basketball almost everyday because i thought that the pain was related due to inactivity ,after that and the pain was increasing(only hurts when the knee is cold, doesnt hurt that much when im doing exercise), after 1 week i stopped because i figured my knee needed some rest(got somewhat better after rest). I came back to gym 2 weeks ago and bought Elastijoint(the pain feels like a Joint problem, might be something else) which contain 2000mg MSM, 1500mg Glucosamine, 1200mg Chondroitin Sukfate, 5000mg Gelatin per daily dose the pain have gotten kind of better but its still hurts a lot when im doing cardio that uses my knee eg. stationary bike or elliptical. Also i did some leg training with weight and didnt hurt at all, but im scared to do some of the most stressful exercise as Squats, etc. So what do you think i should? Keep training and taking the elastipain to see if the pain cease? Rest the knee and take the elastipain and try again in a few more weeks?

I had a knee issue a few weeks back. Have you tried the old RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) advice? What about ibuprofen. Those cleared up my problem in a little over a week. During that week I did my best to lay low and rest my knees. If that doesn't work, do as I did and get an appointment with a sports specializing orthopedic doctor. The peace of mind the doc gave me telling me my knees are great even after years and years of running, was priceless. Good luck! :)

R rest -- stay off the injury as much as possible. For knees, watch TV, read (rough stuff!). I ice -- put an ice pack on the injury for 20 to 30 min every few hours (works wonders!). C compression -- wrap an ACE bandage around the injury (this helped a little, ice was better). E elevation -- lie down or put your leg on a pillow on the coffee table while seated on couch). Ibuprofen -- I took 2 tablets 3x a day for that week. Did the trick for me. Good luck! And again if that doesn't work, suggest you see a doc.

I would say if it doesn't start to feel better with the RICE in a day or two, and the recurrence of the pain throughout the day doesn't start to diminish in a week, and the problem isn't almost completely resolved in 2 weeks, see a doc. I'm not a doctor though. Maybe someone on the forum has medical training (EMT maybe). Hopefully they'll chime in. Good luck!

Supplements for joint pain are a lifetime commitment if they are required. They take a while to work and need to be sustained. You may find that staying very hydrated will ease the discomfort of your knee. Dry joints take longer to warm up, and lack good lubrication. Try drinking more water.
