Sorry.  The last picture of me was my attempt at bulking.  I went from about 135 in the 3 previous pics to about 150-155 in that last pic.  In both pics, I am not nearly asdefined as i'd like to be...but now, after my bulk, I clearly am getting flabby.  Ultimately I want to completely cut up my body.  6 pack, vascular and more defined muscles, more defined chest, etc.  I amcomfortable with my size overall.  5'6 150 is fine by me...I just want to shred the excess fat and be a very cut 140-150.  Does that help?

Ha...I'm from St. Louis...so that's what's with the A/B product or (InBev now).

I know man...it's pathetic.
The first 3 pics are from me last year.  Honestly, then…I was running all the time (HIIT) and lifting pretty regularly.  I was also eating a TON of protein based foods.  The truth is; THEN, was the best regimine I have ever had and THAT (the wwhite and blue trunks) is the result.  The last pic is me last week.  You can tell I’ve put on some lbs.  I haven’t done cardio in like 8 months and have been eating pretty much everything and anything I can.  In doing so, I have put on about 15 lbs.  I still get to the gym 2-3 days a week though and hit it pretty hard.  Contrary to what everyone may think…I’ve done a ton of research on this site and have tried to put myself together several programs in the past.  It has been unsuccessful  I’ve showed actual pics of my body finally and now I’m just looking for some straight advice.  I want to be a cut up 145 lbs ultimately.  I know (from posts I’ve read) that everyone hates the Brad Pitt Fight Club reference, but honestly…that’s closer to the build I’d prefer then a short, muscular guy.

PLEASE advise

What have you been doing for the past 6 years? Did you lift weights? I'm serious. I'm not trying to be a jerk I'm just wondering.

I was gonna sk the same but i was like naaahh im not gonna do it... But yeah bro 6 years is alot of training for you size or lack of.. Im guessing you have a small build and bone frame and a decent metabolism.. You just gotta eat every 3-4 hours, the good stuff, 80/20 rule and incoorperate a full body routine.. You'll be good,, Cutting is for next summer.. bulk for the next 8 months and youll be good. IMO

I know your looking for the fight club look, butt in order to explain or actually justify Chris and Iwllmakeit ' s posts, you are not going to obtain the look your after with the amount of mass you you have. If you cut all you excess body fat and get vascular and defines you are going to be much smaller than what you are shooting for and your not really shooting for anything of significant size.

let me put it to you like this I am in my avitar 157 ish pounds I am more cut than you are and we are the same height, well I'm a half inch shorter or so. I am muscley for a girl... but not THAT muscley, so I think maybe you should put up you diet and routine for a critique, and we can see what you have been working with.

Re:What say you? - Sunday, October 12, 2008 1:40 PM ( #11 )
Thank you everyone...I appreciate the insight and I am not taking any of yer statements personally.  I just want some friggin help.

I have mainly been lifting weights for 6 years anywhere from 3-5 times a week depending on what routine I was doing at the time.  I'm not bullshytting guys, I don't know what the deal is...There have been periods of time where I would also incorporate cardio into my routine, too.  Currently, I hit the gym 3 days a week and haven't done cardio in like 8 months.  For the past 6 months or so, I have also pretty much been eating what I want and when I want.  That's why in the last pic I look like i've been getting a little chubby.  I figured if I'm going to be small, I might as well be cut up.  My current routine consists of Monday, Wednesday, Friday.  I do:
Mnday-Chest: 12,10, 8, 6
Squats: 12, 10, 8, 6
Back:12,10,8,6
shoulders: 12,10, 8, 6

Wednesday-
Bi's and Tris

Friday--Chest: 12,10, 8, 6
Squats: 12, 10, 8, 6
Back:12,10,8,6
shoulders: 12,10, 8, 6

My diet, like I said is pretty much whatever right now, but I just went to the store and bought a ton of good stuff like tuna, steaks, shrimp, brown rice, vegetables, lean cuisines, etc.  Guys/gals, what info do I need to get you, to get me the help I need to make some serious gains?  I just want to look more defined

Re:What say you? - Monday, October 13, 2008 4:38 AM ( #13 )
I guess so.  Monday I’ll usually do dumbbell flat bench w/ a 12,10,8,6 rep count.  I’ll then do my squats with the same rep count, then I’ll hit a shoulder exercise of some sort for the same rep count, then rows, or some other back exercise for the same rep count.  When I do the same workout again on Friday I’ll just sub out a different chest exercise…maybe INCLINE dumbbell bench, or maybe I’ll just go to a flat barbell.  Then instead of squats, I’ll do lunges or dead lifts.  For shoulders and back, I just pick a different exercise then I did on Monday.  I try to change it up so I don’t get burnt out.  Then, my Wednesday workout concentrates more on isolation exercises for the bi’s and tri’s.  Is this not a very good program?

Most definetly not a good program. Hell I do 25 sets for a single muscle group in one day.

If you want to stick with your compound full body routines then do 3 exercises at least for each muscle group on both days you go the gym (meaning a total of 24 sets per muscle group each week)

If not, look at some of the upper/lower splits or something of the sort that are provided on the site.

I say F*** splits.. Even though youve been lifting for 6 yeras in my Point of Veiw urs still beginner -intermidiate lifter.. You need to do full body routine.. Mark ripptoes routine.. its a great gainer.. Get a set routine of eating and lifting.. it will only do you good. Pop tarts aren't clean eating.. Oatmeal and the likes are.. Use the 80/20 rulefor eating.... Seems like youre not trying to be a pro bodybuilder and nor do you haveto be as strict and eat like one.. But always try to strive for perfection.
