What is classed as a big chest
-
Tuesday, October 06, 2009 12:14 PM
( #1 )
Hi I am just wanting to know what I should be aiming for with my training? I want to reach a body fat of 12%, was very close around 3 months ago but lost track of my diet and am now working down from about 17% :-( I know i will look fairly small being 6'3" @ 12%bf as i do not have a lot of muscle mass. However, once i achieve this I will try to bulk up. However, what should I be aiming for? What are classed as big arms? Big chest? Waist size? etc I do not want to achieve a mass of muscle, just look lean and well toned. Thanks

If you just started training, I think it would be good to have strength-related goals, rather than body parts' sizes.. JMO.
5'8.1" Age = 20 started in February 16th 2007: 58kg (127.6lbs) current : around 79-80kg (173.8lb-176lb)

CreaOtine Any ways, I'd say at least a 60 in chest is good a 60 inch chest and 20 inch arms? bloody hell. that's a monster, not big. and don't worry about measurements, just worry about keeping the waist small and gradually make everything else bigger until you're happy with it.

I will probably put on another10-20 by the end of the year. Started squats and milk last week, so I'm pretty sure it is going to make me put on a lot of weight, and I'm thinking too fast.

I dunno though i don't think its that bad, I started at over 17% bf, and when I broke 200 i was up to 20% or a little over, and I slowed the bulk down until recently, I even went down to 19% as I was gaining weight for a while till i got up to 207+ and I started to get back over 20%, dunno what I am at now. The juice is tempting, especially when to get rid of the fat and keep all the muscle it would help drastically rather than me lose weight of both. Trying to keep it natural unless I decide to be a pro powerlifter or something stupid like that, reach my potential without it and decide from there, I still make progress with my lifts.

I was supposed to do it once i broke 200, but I got into powerlifting and wanted to gain strength, that and I didn't want to be a puny 165 lbs. I want to be cut at more like 200, I don't think I will cut until I am close to 185 lbs LBM. That might not be till I weigh 250, but then again if I hit 250 I should be putting up some serious numbers and might just start competing for a while, or else lean to 208 ish and compete int eh 198 lb class. And to bulking, I want to be a beast so I hope it happens, thanks!

Nm0ney34 honestly I think its more of the chest to waist ratio thats going to make the big difference, quite true. for every inch you lose from your waist (which is a hell of a lot easier than putting an inch on your chest!!) the better the effect. danny padilla created a fantatic illusion that he was 25-30lbs bigger than he actually was due to tiny waist, big chest and washboard abs to be nicknamed the giant killer
Bench Press Max - 170kg @ 100kg Squat Max - 220kg @100kg Deadlift Max - 275kg @100kg Weight - 90kg
