Do squats, even if they are just bodyweight.  They tax the nervous system more than any other exercise and help your entire body increase muslce mass.  It is hard work, but stick to it and reap the rewards of a fit and strong body.

Doing situps 3x a day isn't a great way to get those abs. Firstly becuase working them so often in low amounts is going to build stamina rather than size, and secondly because situps are not a very effective way of working them. Try bodyweight exercises like leg raises, if you do a couple sets of leg raises 3x a week along with a routine of regular squats and deadlifts then those abs will start to show.

PLUS, you need to be lean for your abs to show. And the only effective way I know to personally burn fat, is to ditch carbohydrates for 6 straight days while eating only proteins, fats, and green veggies, and on the 7th day carbing up and eating only starchy carbs like bread, pasta, and cereal while avoiding fats and limiting sugars. I dunno about actual ab workouts, but I do know that no matter how hard you work them, they wont show if you have flab over them.

This is true, if you have fats covering your abs. You need to get rid of them first. But again, you can't lose weight and gain muscle at the same time so maybe you'd know yourself better.

This is so true. I would add in a few sets of pullups here and there.

BTW, to the OP, do you intent to join a gym? You might want to hit the weights soon. When I was your age, all I did was pushups, crunches, pullups, a few dumbell works (biceps curl, triceps curl, shrug).

I wouldn't suggest heavy squats or all that, try to squat with a dumbell (sumo squats for example). Hell, you could even deadlifts with dumbells. Try all that. It would do you good.

Also, if you really want those abs (although I wouldn't focus on that first if I were you) , start doing weighted situps soon.

This is not true.  It can be more complicated than cycling weight gain/loss, and muscle gains will come more slowly, but it's ceratinly possible.  Especially if your bodyfat is quite high, you can gain muscle and lose fat without much trouble at all.
