What do you mean, oatmeal?
-

Ok when you guys talk about oatmeal, do you mean the bland stuff that comes in the big cardboard tube thing, with no dried fruits and sugars added in? The oatmeal I eat is peaches and cream and it's got sugars in it. I just want to know if you're talking about the bland stuff or the good stuff
Punch me in the face! Do iiiiiiiiitt!

yeah that's the stuff, I add it to shakes or other stuffthat isn't so bland so I can still get the fiber content (complex carbs) but not have to deal with the bland taste.

Solid Oak, the "Rolled Oats" that comes in the cardboard tub is the stuff that you want to have. Have you ever compared it to the oatmeal in the "peaches and cream" concotion? The cardboard stuff is whole and has form and it's somewhat brown. The peaches and cream stuff seems as if it has been processed, it's fine, really white, and it's mixed with a **** load of sugar. I love the plain stuff in my shakes. I also love having it with some dried fruit and milk...nuke it for a few minutes and it tastes a lot better then the store bought flavored junk.

Both of them are just as good but if you can't afford the cals go for regular. However you could also go for rice and get the same effect and in my opinion rice lasts longer in your system.

I buy the oatmeal that cooks in 1 minute and do not cook it first, and it works well

Steel cut or large flake oats. 40 to 60g in glass bowl. Cover with water and mic for 60 to 90 secs. add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon for blood sugar regulation and flavour, add 1 scoop of your favorite PP, stir and mic for another minute. Stir, let stand for a couple minutes stir and eat. Adding raspberries is a great way to up you fiber intake. You can do this on the stove too.

splenda or stevia is good for that sugar taste. Protein powder. Honey,pb,berries, some people will add in sugar free maple syrup, sugar free pudding mix. Using tea water will work but really is a prefrence more then any thing i dont like but i have friends who like there oatmeal using tea water. Plain works just as well. You can toss them in a hot pan for a few mintues and it will change the taste to a more nuttier flavour.
