you cannot lose weight and gain muscle because muscle weighs more than fat, but you can gain muscle to burn more calories, which will lower your body fat %. Many lifters go through phases of gaining muscle and then losing fat, often called bulking and cutting phases. Try to gain some muscle and keep track of your cardio and you should be fine.
