Hey all,
I have a question about those weight lifting gloves that come with hooks. The trouble is I have intense tendon pain when doing activites which require pulling actions; seated row and lat pulldown are the worst. My physician and physio recommended these stretching exercises which do work however they don't rid of all the discomfort. I find I have plateaued simply because my wrists give out long before my traps or lats and of course that is very frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem?
Also, do these hooked gloves work well? Can anyone recommend a particular brand? Thanks everyone!

Cheers,

I am assuming there was a trauma somewhere that brought this on...even if you are not aware of it!

I have had alot of success with straps.  As both a powerlifter and bodybuilder....I was hit by a car and had wrist tendon damage that took some time to heal.

I can deadlift...well lets just say a LOT.  With no wraps.  My grip is not the first thing to give out, ever.

That said.  You need to rehab the damage!

Always warm up slow and long.  Pre-stretch after you warm up!  Stretch and hold...no bouncing or moving.  repeat after your train.

Slow buildup of strength and workload over a long period, ice after training, neoprene wraps on the effected area nearly 24/7, no rubbing.

Clean up the diet, even as much organic, whole, raw food as you can...90 days of totally clean eating.  Caveman diet we call it.  No sugar, yeast, processed food of any kind.  Nothing fried!!!
Stick with whole foods.

Try this:
It works for many rheumatoid and arthritic conditions as well as after exertion pain from acid buildup.

Buy organic celery seed at a health food store ..get it in bulk, raw seed, about 2 cups worth.

DO NOT use commercial celery seed as the pesticide/chemical residue which takes residence in the seed's germ  (fat) will worsen the problem!!!

Every day you take 3 tablespoons and use a tea strainer...NOT METAL (metal will alter the properties of the herb) You can use reusable tea bags too...pour 3 cups of boiling water over the seeds and let them sit for 10 minutes in the water.

DO NOT put the seeds in boiling water. Steep them in a glass or ceramic container again NOT METAL.
You can boil the water in metal if you must, but then metal should not contact it once the herb is there, no spoons or anything.

I use an old glass 3 cup pasta jar to hold it once it is "ready".

Now I will tell you that the taste is bitter.  This is a bitter tonic.  The Chinese say that tasting it changes the body chemistry and there have been some tests which bear this out.  So don't try to hide the taste.

You drink 1 cup 3 times a day for 4-6 weeks.  One thing that is a known is that the celery seed can flush deposits of minerals that are responsible for arthritic swelling (the -itis)...it is alkalinizing.

You can also buy celery seed extract in a liquid form at some herb counters, if you know an herbalist, have them make you some.  This is a small bottle of the extract, very condensed, that you can Carry, a dropper full in a glass of water is as effective.

I have recommended this to skiers and other athletes and they swear by it now.

Good luck!
