Weightlifting Straps with Hooks

At the moment, I' m using just the standard leather weightlifting straps for exercises like pullups (sometimes) and shrugs. Just wondering if those straps with the metal hook would be any good? Thanks, Marc

Straps are great, if you want to be a big man - with twiggy forearms and a really weak grip.

Avoid them unless you want skinny and weak Forearms.

Still nursing along a broken hand, so I' m forced to use straps to help keep grip on deads and shrugs.

of course they will I use regular canvas straps I do deads raw, to build up my grip strength + you can' t use them in a meet THEN I use my straps for other back work as my grip is usually gone by then The hooks are easier but the straps more adjustable.

I still say, if you' re gonna use straps, use canvas this way it brings your actual grip somewhat into play then eventually wean yourself off them, it' s hard to do this when you' ve got some metal hook holding all the weight I started at 405 with straps, eventually dropped the straps and eventually could pull over 600 without them

Thanks for the info. I' m sticking with the standard leather lifting straps. Here' s the deal. I see the grip strength issue. Agreed. But reality is.. I' m jipping my traps out of a solid workout becuase I can shrug 405lbs but there is no way.. EVER.. that I' m gonna lift that in my lifetime. I' ll use them sparingly.
