Weight Gainer? - Thursday, February 08, 2007 7:04 AM
Due to some missed meals and lack of calories... could anyone suggest a price efficient Weight Gainer that will help with MUSCLES and not FAT?

Thanks!

Try to plan ahead, so that you will have food when you need it. IMO Weight Gainers are a waste, they are for people who don't plan ahead and don't eat the right way. Plan your day out surrounding your meals.

i wouldnt exactly say that, umm i Use cytogainer and it helps alot.
It allows me to
1) save time
2)save money
3)get a few extra grams of protein and some calories

cytogainer is popular and tastes really good.

So if I were to try that at least once a day... it would probably help alot?

I mean, I already take my regular protein shakes after my work-out and sometimes in the evenings.

1) Cook your food ahead/Plan meals

2) Foods not that expensive/Cytogainer, 4 SCOOPS? 18 Servings Retails for 51.00 dollars, I know you can get it cheaper. Chicken Breast is roughly 2 - 3 a pound. You can get roughly 20.4lbs of chicken for the same retail price, when chicken is not on sale.

3) Rather eat more to get more protein from FOOD not from a Supplement, anyone will tell you nutrition from food is MUCH better than nutrition from Supplements. Anyone want to back me up on this?

Serving Size: 4 Scoops (150 grams)
Servings per Container: 18

Amount per Serving

% Daily Value
Calories 610
Calories from Fat 35
Total Fat 3.5 g 6 %
Saturated Fat 2 g 10 %
Cholesterol 100 mg 33 %
Sodium 110 mg 5 %
Potassium 395 mg 11 %
Total Carbohydrates 84 g 28 %
Dietary Fiber <1 g 2 %
Sugars 5 g
Protein 54 g 108 %

Based on a 3-ounce boneless serving - Cooked without
adding fat, salt or other ingredients.
Chicken Breast
(skinless) 120 1.5 g .5 g 24 g 70 mg

So 16oz in 1lb - so 20.4lbs of chicken = 108 servings. Saving money? I don't think so...

Now, can anyone say Owned?

oh i definately agree with you.
i suppose i answered his quesiton thinking that he had read some other threads and i wasnt going to get into the whole
"supplements wont help you unless you are working your ass off, supplements arent going to get you big by yourself, etc. etc. ETC."

in my situation it is unrealistic for me to have 6 or 7 meals a day  with REAL food , so i supplement two of those meals with shakes and weight gainer.

now back to his quesiton "will it help alot" it will only help if you are helping yourself... eating right, working out hard and correctly, have a consistant schedule, etc.

but if you are asking will cyto gainer or any other protein help supplement one or two meals a day for convenience then YES it will. but still if you are not eating healthy and often other than tha tthan NO it wont.

I agree fully that NOTHING beats whole food, but for me it is impossible to have 6quality whole food meals a day and I only manage 3 (breakfast, dinner and pre bed) the rest is filled by whey, gainer and powerbars.
