I have been lifting for about two years now and have seemed to not be gaining a lot of weight. I try to eat more and more, but still I am not gaining a lot of weight. I'm about 5'8 140 pounds now, having recently losing some weight due to the stomach flu. So obviously, I want to beef up quickly. I recently went to GNC and they recommended me GNC pro performance weight gainer 2200. The salesman said to take it one hour before eating and then work out after your meal. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken weight gainer such as this and if it indeed does help you gain muscle quickly. Thank you.

Alot of weight gainers are gonna be close to the same, i prefer cyto-gainer it taste good and mixes well. The main part though is to keep eating healthy man, even if your not hungy just grub and grub and work hard.

My weight gainer: 2.5 glasses of skim or lowfat milk (10g protein) Two scoops of ON whey protein (44g protein) 1 tablespoon powdered egg whites (10g protein) 1 bananna or 4 large strawberries Scoop of ovaltine (flavor and carbs, optional) 64 grams of protein. Cheaper than most weight gainers with less carbs.

ORIGINAL: danmirage We are talking weight gainer...carbs are esential to spare protein and to gain. I'd just eat a real meal for that matter...but then my MRP is only $1 per serving or less. So much of the manufactured weight gainers out there are full of crap and junk carbs. My drink is mucho cheap on the wallet and uses stuff that's already in your home. No extra shopping necessary. The carbohydrates are clean and there's a good mix of fast digesting protein and slow digesting protein. You get plenty of carbs and 600 calories which is the same as the average weight gainer.

hee hee, I was not knocking your formula! However, this is what i get when I crunch those numbers... 792 calories 86 grams of protein 98 grams of carbs 8 grams fat My only problem with that is most of the carbs are simple sugars. Which is the case with most MRPs as you point out. I reviewed and tossed out 98% of the MRPs I checked, narrowing it down to only a few that were worth their pennies...but none of them stands up to real food, such as a combination like yours. I would recommend having some celery sticks before you drink that to slow the sugars release, unles you drink it post workout.

To a great extent, we create our metabolism, if you want to take control of yours...you do that through what you eat and what you do. Check that gaining link above and see if there is info in the nutrition section that differs from what you do...the supportive meals specifically. True though, as I gain muscle I really have to eat harder to gain more! You are kicking butt...when you take your week off...lower the food intake, a bit, it will lower the metabolism a bit and make digestion a bit less energy intensive so you can gain on 3600 again!... Keep in mind, protein SPEEDS the metabolism..so if you over indulge in the protein...you have to eat more!!! Protein is NOT calorie or protein sparing..complex carbs are.

Hey dude i been workin at GNC for awhile and i can honestly tell you that the reason why the guy sold you the 2200 Gold Gainer is b/c we try to push GNC products and the 2200 is on sale..THe guy that recommended CytoGainer is dead on..For a hardgainer CytoGainer is exceptional..I can tell you buy the sales..Another good one that many customers dont know about is one called MuscleJuice by Ultimate Nutrition. Its loaded w/ Fat and loaded w/ Carbs ..which is essential for gaining but like always you must Eat, and Eat, and Eat until you cant anymore..thats the bottom line but i can tell you from experience that those two WORK! i was at 6-2 about 175 and now im at 6-2 210lbs and you know of course ive taken other things ( NO2, 17HD, various creatines ) but as far as gainers go....go with Musclejuice ( 10.5 lb Jug for 30$...thats cheap as **** and it tastes reallllly good ) or go with Cytogainer 4lb tub is 22.49 right now

yea ive takin weight gainer 2200 gold from GNC its not all its cracked out to be when i first started taking it you just feel bloated all the time and dont feel like doing anything it actually sucks and for you to gain the weight you want you"ll need to buy 3 or 4 of those cotainers when i took it i gained alomost 5 pounds and 2 weeks but didnt gain a pound since i think the only reason that you even gain that weight is because you put your body in a state of shock bottom line is its not worth the money try the cyto-gainer maybe that'll work for you
