Ive been loading on Weider Creatine for 12 days now (Loading is 7 pills a day for 21 days for a total of 5 grams a day). I have noticed an increase in strength in the gym. My question is... I take my Creatine 1 hour before my workout with 16oz of water, Im wondering if I am getting the same effect taking it with water as it would with grape juice? The last time I drank any kind of juice (being grape, orange or whater ever) it upsets my stomach. Also Im wondering about this Weider Creatine too... A woman at the gym who teaches weight lifting said to load the 7 pills a day for 21 days (5g), then 3 a day for 21 days and off a month, then reload... Is this ok?

A little history on myself since im new. Back in Nov of 2002 I was 248lbs, I went to the doc for a bladder infection and there he told me I needed to lose weight. Being 21 years old, 6ft 2in and 248lbs, I was unhealthy and unhappy. So when I started college I started going to the gym, I also picked up 2 bottle of Xenadrine EFX and adjusted the way I ate. Stopped drinking all soda's and eating fast food. I only drink water and the skim milk I have in my cereal. I dropped the weight and today I weigh in at 180lbs on the mark. Now looking to gain some muslce, I take a whey protein supp (EAS) after my workouts with my lunch and another protein drink during the day and I ate whatever mom fixes for dinner. My only problen is the skin that needs to tighten up. I figure where im 22 it will heal with time and my weight training will help muscle fill in where the fat used to be. So this is me in short....

Ill post my routine in the routine forum...

WoW! Great job dude! 248 to 180? Nice going. Really. Congratulations.

Okay, the creatine loading. Kinda bunk. It's real and it does work but you can get to the same point just by staying on the stuff for a month. Loading is just to get you to the point quickly.

I stopped doing it long ago. I went thru my supply faster. However, creatine is so much cheaper then it was. So if you want to load, it's okay. I'd suggest you spike your insulin levels with something. If you cannot stand grape juice and such.. try Kool-Aid. Or just get some dextrose and mix it.

I really wouldn't consider 5g to be loading. 5g a day is standard. 10-15g is loading and it's usually done for a week. Not 21 days.

So the levels are off a bit.

Stay on it for about 3 months.. then off for 1.. then back on for 3.. cycling off isn't totally necessary but I think it's good to do. And when you get back on, you usually get the cool benefits all over again. So I recommend cycling off for a month as well. But I'd stay on for 3.

Welcome to DB O2SER. I hope this answered that question. If not, please post what didn't make sense and I'll clarify. Smile

It sounds like it.. considering 7 pills is 5g total.

If each pill is 5g.. then no.

If all 7 pills equal to 5g.. then yes.

Sounds expensive. You could get a cheap power alternative for less I'm sure and it would last longer. 7 pills a day.. 120 in the bottle.. 17 days. That is a pretty short bottle.

6' 2" at 248lbs, and now you're 180lbs? Wouldn't that make you underweight now? I think 220lbs at your height would have been optimum, saying your BF % was atleast between 10-19%. Really 248lbs isn't that bad for your height. I guess it depends on your build. Congrats on the dedication to drop weight though....that's one of the hardest things to do.

i got that same bottle of creatine from wal-mart last week..it was a little less than $10. the bottle is supposed to last 21 days, so $10 every 3 weeks isn't too bad.
