I have been out of lifting since highschool. I graduated in 05. So im not in as good of shape as i was.. But by all means im not obese..  I am 5'8 and 182..  yet i havent swam in like 4 years because some friends get on me about my chest and stomache hair.. What is going to be my best route for getting rid of it with out tweezing each individual hair? What are the truths about waxing? I hear i grows back thinner and lighter each time or something? someone help me out please.

i hear the same thing about waxing.. i was wondering that if there is a way to not completely remove all hair, but just reduce the amount some way... is this possible?

Have any of you tried laser hair removal, I'm pretty sure they will just burn all you hairs to the core! Just go to one of the places and ask them how they do it, and is it permanent!

I just got waxed a couple of days ago for the first time. Im not that hairy of an animal but I had a thick "treasure trail" and on my chest. It looks wicked now, definition shows more, looks cleaner. It hurt like a **** but it was well worth it. It's true that it grows back lighter and thinner, and lasts from 6-8 weeks. and the second time and on are supposed to be a bit easier/ less painful.

We're gonna need a sticky on this subject sooner or later.

First off, laser hair removal is permanent, yes; but it often takes many sessions to get all the areas you want, some spaced months apart to catch dormant follicles that weren't zapped the first time.  Oh yeah, and it costs a small country's GPD.

Electrolisis is also permanent, but considering that a needle must be inserted into each and every hair follicle to zap it with a tiny electric current, you can correctly surmise that the procedure is painful.  Of course, I can't imagine it being more painful than getting a tattoo, but the cost is likewise steep.

Depillatory creams (they sell brands for men in most active-wear catalogues if you're hung up about using Nair) will remove the hair and leave the first milimeter or two very fine as it grows back, because it literally dissolves the hiar strand, leaving it thinner.  But these creams can burn sensitive skin, and they stink like holy hell.

Waxing is a good option if you want something that lasts about twice as long as a razor shave, but obviously, it's not permanent, and some people are prone to ingrown hairs after waxing, because when you rip the whole hair out at the root, it has to emerge from deep beneath the skin and some of them don't make it.  "Deep" in hair follicle terms is as small as 1mm).

Last but not least, you've got the good ol' standy (and my personal fav), the disposable razor.  I actually use a combination of Braun foil shaver on my legs, and disposables for everything else.  I've been shaving my arms for so long, I can do it without shaving cream or soap, and I never get a razor burn.  It only costs one disposable razor per session and adds about ten minutes to my morning ritual once a week, and I'm sure over a lifetime, the cost of all those razors won't come anywhere close to what people pay for the laser, waxing, or electrolisis.

All you guys have a cool attitude to this probelm.
My husband has done a few things to help him when he was training for thr WWE and i have had GREAT PLEASURE (soory to sound mean) in ripping it off.
Shaving is quick and easy and most of you should have a shaver handy.  but it can grow back a llot thincker and darker.
Waxing is cool and stays smoother longer, but as veggeep said you are prone to ingrowns.
Just think that you boys are deliberating over this now, us girls think and worry about it ALL the time.  So caht to a girl that you feel comfortable with.
happy removing

I don't understand why guys want to trim their fingernails or wear deoderant either, and I most likely never will.  If you have claws and sweat glands just live with it unless you have a logical reason aka being seen in public.

Since when is there anything logical about bodybuiling?  Physique art is first and foremost a celebration of human aesthetic potential.  body hair, in most people's view, distracts from and obscures muscle definition.  Personally, I'd rather look my best whether or not I'm on a stage.

It's a personal choice, dude.  you shouldn't berate other people's hygiene choices on the basis of your own gender insecurities.

I have some good amount of body hair myself and I did get rid of it once and thought it was a mistake, now what I do is I trim it not even short, just enough so that it doesn't look like tentacles and I this is what I'm most comfortable with.  I actually feel my definition looks better this way and also feel it's sexier.  Even though we hear that girls now dig sans hair bodies I've found this not to be true, lets say, by experimentation (all this mostly referring to frontal body hair).  As far as girls are concerned back hair might be the problem.  I waxed it once and found out it is not my best option, I had tons of ingrown hairs so I'm never doing it again.  Creams have worked best for me in the past.  As of now, I don't have to worry about it because my GF is actually against me doing anything about it, so I'm a happy camper.  Anyways, my biggest advice on the subject, and if there is any "legacy" upon my post, it is that it is ALL about the attitude.

personally i prefer being hairless over being hairy.  just a personal thing.  i suppose i'm confident enough in my masculinity and heterosexuality that i can do that stuff.  shave your legs and tell me it doesn't feel amazing when you put on pants
