 Water Retention?

OK, here is another of my really stupid questions...
 
How does one know if they are retaining water from supplements?
 
I have been taking Creakic for teh past few weeks and I look bigger... but how do I tell if it is water retention????

Ugh, I took Creakic and the water retention was so bad that my wife said I looked fat. When I got off Creakic I lost about 10 pounds in water weight in a week. Made me swear off creatine altogether.
