Water Intake - Friday, May 30, 2008 2:42 PM
Since I am starting a cycle with creatine I am trying to drink at least 1 gallon of water a day if not more....However, all this water drinking is killing me! I have to go to the bathroom about every 10-15 minutes it seems like and sometimes it comes at the worst times possible (like driving!)
 
my question is to those who are using creatine....I want to make sure I get enough water intake to make creatine work but how do you guys drink throughout the day? I can't imagine you can go a few months like this every day. Does your bladder get use to it?
 
I am thinking I will try and drink 16 FL OZ of water at least once every hour throughout the day, see if that will bring down my urination. Any suggestions?

I will start taking creatine come June 1st, but I've kinda gotten used to it actually. I keep a 2 liter bottle of water and drink throughout the whole day. I keep refilling it. But yes, having to go to the bathroom to urinate all the time is a bit annoying, but worth it.

so ur saying u drink more than that now?? if ur awake for 14 hours thats 28 cups a day!

usually i have about 12-16 cups a day and im still going to the bathroom every 40min. or so

that does seem like a problem. i've always had the problem of going to the bathroom too much but never during a workout. usually if its something like that or a practice i dont think about it at all so i dont have to go for atleast 1-2 hours depending on how much water i've had already

Well I think that is half of my problem, I know i am consuming so much water that knowing I am going to have to go to the bathroom is on my mind constantly! hahaha maybe I should just keep my mind off of it and see if it helps improve.

most ppl on here would be drinking about 1.5-2 gallons then. i dont think i could drink more than 16 cups a day without it becoming a problem. i dont see why more than that would be necessary though

I normaly just go on the colour of my urine,If its dark,Drink more water,If clear,You know you are hydrated.

But If I should guese ,I propably drink about 2 -3.5L a day .

for some reason when i've been going to the bathroom the last few days its almost always been yellow even though i havent changed anything. (except lower carbs this week since it's my week off)

my multi vitamin makes my urine almost neon yellow sometimes. I drink 1 gal and some change a day.

yeaaa i have that problem, except its after i workout, and i workout pretty late...around 5 or 6 pm..and the urinating continues...i probably have to wake up atleast 3 times during sleep to piss out like 20 oz of water! LOL (exagerrated)

get a gallon jug or a milk carton and fill it up every morning and make sure you finish it by bedtime. I usually try and finish more then half by noon so I dont have to piss all night.

I should have said half gallon for every pound of LBM....But I still I drink a gallon and a half to two gallons a day anyhow...easily.
maybe its because I'm out in the hot sun all day ...but I drink that much in the winter too...

I just have a 2 liter water bottle.  I usually fill at the beggining of the day and drink throughout sometimes i refill in the day but it varies on how much.  As long as im plenty hydrated it doesnt really matter to me.
