I hate them because often time they over advertised useless pieces of crap. I'm not saying all but imo many are. edt: I don't hate supps. I use whey, but I don't like how people are tricked into taking somthing that doesn't work.

I don't H8 on supps. I just think there are too many kids making too big a deal of them. Supplements are the modern day snake oil. Most are really nothing special, yet we all want to believe they're the next best thing since steroids. People need to keep perspective and remember that supplement means "Something that completes something else when added to it." They cannot and should not be the center of attention in this game.

Too many people rely on supplements and not diet/training.

It would be an interesting study for someone with a lot of spare time to go through the forums and count how many kids ask for advice about supplements before they ever describe their diet or training, or in the course of describing them. I'll bet you it's well into the 90% range.

not a hater at all on the supps... but there does seem to be some people who think there are "magic pills" that will give them the perfect bod. Also seems that lots of people are afraid of HARD WORK. If you already have the HARD WORK down.. combine it with some nice supps can tweak the results achieved

Guys, there ARE magic pills. I sell them, $20.00 a pill. Take 10 of them over the course of 10 days, and you'll have the body you always wanted.

I never check the suppliment thread...mostly because I honestly dont care much about a lot of the stuff out there. Much of what I think has already been said. I think people expect suppliments to be as miraculous as say...changing water into wine. They think they can avoid most of the hard work, take suppliments to make up for slack and magically look amazing and be as strong as the hulk. I think suppliments are important only if you have the Base understanding and work ethic for your exercise and diet. The E&D is like a house provides everything you need, and suppliments are like pricey luxurys like a hot tub, pool and 72" big screen that really ARENT needed but make things easier. lol but yeah, I believe they are important to an extent, and ONLY if you have the basics down with exercise and diet. Could I live without them, of course. Would I care, maybe. but I would manage and progress with out them. Plus, I get all my stuff at walmart for the most part. Spending 80 bucks for a tub of NOxplode is waste of money IMO.

Vegeep, did you only get the one type of pill? Of COURSE that's why you didn't get good results, you need to take Pill X and Y and the same time. Pill X channels the malignamotic energy in your blood to go directly to the scupala vessels in the trategey, and Pill Y opens the trategy vessels giving your miniscus-directisius a triage of SOLID MUSCLE. Get Pill X and Pill Y together for only 29.99 a pill! Or pay just 30$ and become a gold card member and save 10%!!!

Seriously tho, Jerry's right. It's a crying shame I wasn't a lot more skeptical back in my early teens. I could've saved a lot of lawn-mowing money! Instead, like the vast majority of kids just getting interested in this sport, I couldn't pry my face out of those Weider magazines with all the glossy promises in them. It's not that I was afraid of hard work -on the contrary, I expected there to be plenty of it. I just had no idea how much, and just how hard it would be. And it's not that my parents didn't teach me proper work ethic -they just never volunteered to help or really encouraged me to take up strength training. Add to that the fact that I wasn't the kind of kid who would openly discuss such a desire with my parents, and you have a perfect recipe for desperation. I think that's where a lot of the early focus on supplements comes from. It's not outright laziness, per se. I really think there are plenty of kids out there who really don't know what kind of dedication and how long of a commitment it takes to build a seriously muscular physique. But once you've spent a few months in the trenches, got a taste of beginner's gains, and hit your first plateau, you have no more excuses for putting false hopes in supplements to carry you. THAT'S where I side squarely with Marc and Jerry. When you're old enough to know there's no free lunch (at least, not without serious side effects), you have to put supps in their proper place and get on with the hard work. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
