Unilateral Training - Tuesday, November 03, 2009 7:20 AM ( #1 )
Alright, so there is a muscle imbalance between my left and right side, and I always figured it to be caused by my right side being longer then my left i.e. more room for growth, but when watching the video Pumping Iron (Arnold) I realized his left side is shorter then his right width wise by a noticeable amount like me but his left side (i.e. bench press) you can see is HUGE, WAY more bigger then his right and I realized it's because to even it out one side would be much more thick because of the less room but same weight.

So now I need to even out my muscle groups. The biggest priority is my chest, when I push them together at the top of a movement my left chest is as thick maybe a little thicker then my right, but I need it to be a LOT thicker to match my right, this is very noticeable.

Anyone have any good unilateral workouts that have solved their problems in a couple of weeks?

Been trying that and while I have noticed a difference, I try to feel the contraction REALLY hard in my left chest but I just can't, and today I woke up with my right chest way more soar then my left chest againnnn -.-
I'm considering just trying to use a way wider grip with my left but it's very difficult I find. My right is about 2 and a half inches longer then my left.

i sorta feel for you.  when i squat i have a tendency to push more with my left leg than my right.

DOMS does not mean growth.

When I'm standing just normal usually my left leg is a little but further ahead then my right and when I squat I usually feel my right leg pushing and not really in my left, though a few times I have.

I've been planning on using the Hammer STR machine, they have one at my gym :P I just really hate machines, meh.
