Un-even building - Monday, May 18, 2009 7:36 PM ( #1 )
Hey my name is Ian and I have been body building for about 2 years now and I have reached a HUGE snag that keeps me from hitting it hard like I used to. I have come to notice that even though I am right handed, the left side of my abs are more developed then my right, and when working my abs I make sure to make slow, complete actions. I am looking for either an ilsoation exercise to even them out or some other form of help? I also find this to be true in my pecs as well, the fact that they are eneven completely drains my want to workout because I dont want it to become worse. HELP PLEASE!

It could be your genetics buddy. There is a similar post to this one, but one that pertains to 8 pack abs and genetics playing a role in it. Just my opinion, mate.

When you say your abs being developed on the left side, do you also mean that you do not have abdominal muscles on the right side or are they just not as defined as your left side?

I have noticed the same thing, I am right handed and my abs are more defined on the left. I am not sure why this is but it may not be due to being right or left handed. Seems to be with the extremities though.

well u can target muscle growth. so possibly if u could find an exercise that works a single side of ur abs, maybe that wud help?
eh something like one legged knee raises?
or do weighted situps, but put the weight more to one side than the other?
