Uneven Lats, what to do? - Tuesday, March 31, 2009 8:24 AM ( #1 )
Working for quite a while now, about last year I noticed that feeling where I can flex and feel my right lat more than my left one. A friend of mine said he has the samething since it's common that one side will be slightly bigger than the other. But comparing them in the mirror just shows that one lat comes out a lot more than my left one. I stopped doing lat pull dows because of this and decided to do wide chin ups.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem? How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Do one armed DB rows.  Start with your weak side and when you fail, do the same amount of reps for your right side and no more even if you can.  If you keep making your right side do more reps it will stay stronger.  Stuff like lat pull down or wide grip chins won't really help the imbalance much.

I do that already, I always start with my weak arm (side) and I don't exceed with my right even though it can't handle more, always stay even. Anything else I can do?

I had the same problem about 5 months ago. I did exactly what Chalky Palms suggested and I am pretty even now. They will even out, you will be fine.
