US prepares to publish dietary supplements GMPs - Tuesday, May 22, 2007 9:03 AM ( #1 )
After more than a decade of deliberation and many false starts, the US Food and Drug Administration's good manufacturing practices for dietary supplements have received White House approval and will be published within weeks. More

This should be for the most part, a good thing.

Have the GMPs been released yet...it's been about a month.  Also, would we be able to get these at bookstores or will we have to order off the internet?

GMP's have been published I believe.

They are a set of rules for dietary supplement companies to practice (good manufacturing practices).

You can read about them at the FDA website.  Reputable companies will have little to no issues following the guidelines.  I know many dietary supplement companies are thrilled they are out because they would like to clean up the industry themselves.
