Tuna Burgers! They Are The BEST! - Wednesday, May 24, 2006 7:47 PM ( #1 )
Try this one time. It is NOT gross. I have fed this to all my freinds and family who are not healthy people and are used to the strong flavor of junk. I have never found anyone that did not like this meal

you need

1 can of tuna in water (do not drain it- use it all)
1-2 eggs
Dash of wheat flour
bread and all the stuff you stick in a burger
optional: tofu
optional: lettuce tomato onion pickles spices

Mix all ingredients in ungreased frying pan on medium until eggs are cooked and everything in the pan is one consistent paste
Tofu will not make it taste any better but it is an opportunity to use the stuff.
Wheat flour can be substituted with pancake batter which was the original recipe when I found this in a magazine but I very strongly recommend wheat flour. Total cooking time: 5 minutes. Wash pan quickly or it may be harder to clean later in the day

Add non fat mayo, ketchup and mustard to whole grain bread and remember 1 can of tuna makes two whopping burgers!

Yes, you can tell the difference between these and real burgers but they taste fantastic and they really satisfy with no fat (other than EFAs) low sugar, complex carbs and a monster load of high quality protein!

Dude, great recipe. I'm gonna give it a try tomorrow. Here is a decent tuna recipe listing (Blackened is the one). I try to eat tuna every other night. Don't want to overload on that mercury!

Cannot wait to try this one.  I'll definitely add some onion and maybe some celery right into the burgers to increase the amount of servings/decrease calories.  I like the idea of adding egg whites, upping the protein a bit and giving your body two types to choose from.  If these taste anything like salmon cakes, I'm sold!
