Do you think running on a treadmill is same as running on the road?

I think that would all depend on the incline of the tread mill and road..

I use a tread mill the majority of the time. Although its a crappy one that doesn't have an electric motor or anything so I have to have it on an incline so I don't have to hold onto the rails while running. It seems to tire me out alot faster and makes my calves burn alot more then when running on relativly flat ground.

I dunno...not counting things like running on level surfaces, there's a huge difference in track vs. treadmill. I can run 4 miles on the treadmill without stopping, but I cannot do that on the track.

The big thing is the treadmills moving the ground for you, you dont' have to move it with your lower body. On the treadmill, the only thing you really moving are your legs forward. You don't have that earth so to speak, to move. I dont' feel my quads and calves burning with the same distance I do with treadmills. Then again, an argument can be said for the pace. If your on a treadmill, your at a constant pace (until you change it) therefore you may actually push yourself to a higher pace then you might on the track.

Yeah I didn't think about that with the electric tread mills.

i hate treadmils. at my friends i went to quit on the treadmill and rather than turning it off i decided to let it slide me off so when i went flying backwards i sliced my foot on the plactic hanging over it at the end.  also becides that i think it is to bad on my ankles. then again i was bare foot. still................
