Do you guys use the trap bar at all? Is it easier to do shrugs on it?

you talking about the hex bar? Yes its easier, I would suggest to anyone serious about training though to stick with the Oly. BB. and for the love of all that is holy dont ever even think about deadlifting with that.

Can't you do hack squats with that thing, or is that the deadlift you put the poo poo on? It's sort of a pain to load/unload. What is it good for? Shrugs only? Seems to be good at bruising my knees whenever I forget the damn thing is leaning against the wall when I adjust weights on the power rack bar. :(

I dont really use it ever and its not the same as a regular deadlift since the weight is more in the center of the body like a hack squat but its a perfectly good exercise.

You can use it...im just saying for someone serious about lifting I would much rather them do shrugs with an Oly BB. as for the deadlifts, its not a deadlift, like you pointed out its more like a hack squat... and i would never recommend anyone use it for deadlifts unless it was for whatever reason the only thing they had.

The guy on the hex is busting his ass. The guy on the incline gets off a few reps at 135 and then rests and watches. Incline guy has that "what is he doing?" look. Well he's working, not sitting on his ass like you! Question: Is hex guy going deep enough. Should his butt go lower to get his thighs more parallel to the ground or is he okay?
