Hello to all!  I just started working out about 6 weeks ago and so far I have lost a total of 8 lbs.  I thought that I should have lost more, but I'm new to this so I don't really know.  I am doing 30 min. cardio (elliptical machine and treadmill) 5-6 days a week and 3-4 of those days I double up by sprinting up a 200 ft. hill and walking back down for about 30 min. about an hour.  I also do some weight training every other day (mostly arms).  I have been eating low carb meals and trying the 6 small meals a day (I just started this a little less than a week).

Can anyone give me a good regimen to stick by in order to lose weight.  I want to lose about 30 to 40 lbs.  (I'm 5'5" and 177 lbs. - just had a baby a year ago and can't seem to get it off.) and also tone at the same time.

Any info/advice would help!  ThanksSmile

Welcome to DB!

8 lbs in 6 weeks is GREAT.

1 lb a week is average/good.  You lose to fast and you'll be losing muscle as well.

Sounds like whatever you are doing is working at a controlled rate.

Just keep at it.  I know you want some structure but hold off and keep going with what you are doing until you cease to lose.

In the meantime, read the nutrition forum as much as possible to just gather info.

But 6 weeks and 8 lbs... sounds like a great plan whatever you are doing.  It's working.  So don't change it yet.
