Are you sure you're doing full squats with that much weight?  I know several 235lbs and up guys who have trained for 25 years that can't full squat 500lbs..

I've seen some pretty big guys take 405-455 to a bench but I have to see it to believe it when someone makes a claim like that.

We had a pretty big boy on here last year who said he could put 405 deep. Then he posted a video and it was a half squat.

yea im 99% sure he's not going low enough.

this scrawny little 115ish lb. kid at my school said he can sqaut 185 x 5.   he's extremely weak but says "oh yea the coach says its deep enough". it pisses me off

We don't want to make any assumptions or accusations. It's just a lot of weight and it's much easier to believe with proof.

Even if you can't take a video. If you can get someone to take a picture of you at the bottom of the squat that would be good enough for me as there's really no easy way you can fake that.

What most people count as a legit squat is your thighs parallel to the ground or your thighs and lower leg perpendicular to eachother forming a 90 Degree angle.
Bench- 285
Squat- 450
Clean- 280
HT- 6'3
WT-245
40- was 4.68 but added 15 pounds bulk so IDK

Yeah he's the one who posted the video.

Honestly though back when I was in high school and we lifted, all the coach's cared about was if we got somewhere close to parallel they were happy. They never encouraged us to go past parallel and I remember back when I knew little about BB if I went pasted parallel they would say, you don't need to go down that far...

Now I realize how its so easy for younger guys especially in HS or coming out, claiming they can do so much weight when they just aren't informed about proper form.

Not saying there aren't guys who can, but the majority I would say fall into this category.

btw those lines are cause by fabric being pressed up against your skin. I get those, and they look pretty bad like I got whipped by a lash, there most prominate after I use a hack squat. At least thats my guess

Yea thats really annoying.

today another little kid, probably about 115lb. too who's extremely skinny said he maxed at 250 squatting when he's never lifted before. it's so annoying, they go like 1/10th of the way down

wheres the kids video by the way?

that video was gay. i dont count a squat unless its ass to da grass.

Its not their fault. Our coach's were just ignorant when it came to proper form for lifting, and so is a lot of other coach's. The kids just dont know any better then what they are taught, and unfortunate for them and myself they will have to learn proper form and technique as they get older on there own, or if they get lucky someone will teach them.

Just try to relax and take claims like oh i can squat 450 with a grain of salt.

to give you an idea of how misleading high schools can be...they taught us deadlifts were done with a hex bar....yeah...

Yea i actually posted that to see how low i really need to go cuase my coach counts that. btu since then i started going alot lower i dropped about 20 pounds and started ATG squating. Yes i knew the video is bad but look at how long ago that was taken thats around january or febuary. Trust me i now know how silly i look but some people said it took balls or nerve to post a squat video becuase so many people do them wrong. but hey i guess there is really only one true way to learn and thats by doing it wrong first.

When i lift i used to use the smith machines for squating but then realized that the smith machines help with your balance to much so i moved to free weight squats.... today when i was lifting in the school weight cage this really big kid told me that instead of squating i should either be doing straight leg deadlifts or hex bar deadlifts instead of squats....Is this acurate infornmation?

Hexbar deadlifts are not real deadlifts...

My high schools coaches tried feeding me that bull****. You should go smack that "big" guy

Thats horrible advice, if your able to always do squats. SLDL are fine in a routine just dont make the mistake of thinking hexbar deadlifts are just as good as regular deadlifts..

There not as good for certain parts of your body. Regular deadlifts work your lower back a lot better than hexbar deadlifts do. I think that hexbar deadlifts are more like a squat than a deadlift.
Old Lifts: Bench-335, Squat-455, Deadlift-495
New lifts: Bench-375, Squat-545, Deadlift- 585
