Timing of meals.

I sit at a desk all day so I bring my food to work with me. I've read that its best to eat 5-6 meals a day. With work I dont get a chance to stop and eat a small meal(the phone is constantly ringing) so I typically just eat the food I brought throughout the entire day. Essentially I am always eating because I basically eat things slowly since I can't stop and eat it, I'm constantly multitasking with eating being one of those tasks. Is this better/worse then eating the food in 5-6 meals? I like to rotate a high protein food with a carb so that way I'm not eating all the protein or all the carbs at once. What are your thoughts? The longest I go in a day without eating something is typically 30-45 minutes, otherwise I am eating something.
