Not a bad routine at all. The part that I bolded on day one though... depending on how much you row, SLDL and squat. Having those 3 in one workout could beat your lower back up. Also having squats and deadlifts in the same day could be a problem... but you did play soccor in the past so your legs are prolly rugged enough to tolerate that.

I essentially set it up like this: 1 x quad/glute dominant exercise 1 x overall back/leg movement (aka a deadlift in some variation) 1 x horizontal pull 1 x vertical push 1 x horizontal push 1 x vertical pull then i threw in some ab and calf work

6 sets of deads every week is a good bit, but not necessarily too much for someone with your experience. I would say instead of doing the light squats on day 3 to do some other quad-dominant exercise. Maybe lunges, or some squat variation (split, hack, etc). Also, there is no vertical pull on day 5. Oh, also, maybe you could just leave the deads to day 3 and go all out with them, and maybe do power cleans on day 5 instead? I'm not sure if that's the best replacement, but cleans are just awesome... plus it gives your traps more attention.

Yeah that sounds good. Just don't do too many of them, they can up your heart rate alot and wear you out. Just find a rep range that you're comfortable doing so you can finish the rest of your lifts.
