What do you guys wear at the gym and where do you buy it?
I find I prefer shorts several inches above the knee which helps with leg work and showing off the quads.  Usually a colored tank top for a shirt.  Have found the best deals at TJ Maxx, less than $10 each for a nice pair of shorts w/pockets for my mp3, and a nice lycra tank.  How do you guys "outfit"?

Yeah, like about 4 in above the knee.  I know, everyone's wearing those ridiculous basketball "skirts".  I have those too.  I can't stand doing squats and having material rubbing up and down my knees.  You know I'm looking at my muscle mags and books and I'm seeing a lot of short (and tight!) shorts in there!  I'm sorry, I'm of the "if you've got it, flaunt it" mindset.  That may not play well at a Gold's Gym perhaps, but at my little Y I could give two f***s what the guys in the bball shorts think.  I've been wearning shorts for years and years.  Perhaps when you're 45 they chalk it up to lack of fashion and don't hassle me.  And also, you guys are different because you're serious into the whole body, especially legs.  These guys do presses and curls, on their matchstick legs.  So I'm happy to squat and deadlift in my cute little shorts.  ;)

Alright, next time I go to the gym I'll survey all the pant lengths and give you the results.  If memory serves most of the older guys don't wear those calf length hiphop things but the same length shorts I do.  It's not like I'm wearing Daisy Dukes or anything.  They're not Richard Simmons running shorts.  They're like tennis shorts.  For goodness sake they're Nike and Reebok workout shorts.  Besides me, who's buying them and wearing them?  Or is there no shortage of fashion challenged dweebs like me around who'll buy them and think they're cool?  I get smiles from the ladies and glances from the guys which I like so why not?

I get annoyed by pants/shorts getting caught on my knees too.  I've considered looking for some that stop just above the knee, but I haven't bothered yet.

My attire changes with the seasons.  It gets over 100 degrees in my gym, so during the summer I often just work out shirtless, barefoot, with shorts.

I have a home gym and it gets hot in summer and cold in winter. I wear shorts in summer with no shirt. I have to roll the waistband up so the legs do not rub on my knees. I prefer shorts that stop just above the knee.

In winter, its sweat pants, a tee shirt, flannel shirt and fleece. As I warm up I will remove the fleece and maybe the flannel.

I have no idea what Id wear if I actually went to a real gym. Probably just cargo shorts, hiking boots, a t shirt and flannel shirt.
