Hi, im 15 around 229 lbs and 6'4 or '5. Anyway in the gym i see guys around my height and weight and they only curl using 25 or even 30 lb dumbells and they still have that cool looking vein bulging out of there bicep, i curl 45lb dumbells 10 reps each arm, i do barbell curls around 85 lbs, and siting dumbell curls with my arms sticking out to my sides and still i see no vein!, only vein iv noticed on my arm is on the top of my fore-arm, its pritty big. Is something wrong or am i not doing the proper exercies to get a vein that i so dearly want, :) i know it seems foolish but to have that vein bulging out of my biceps would mean the world to me.

What's your bodyfat percentage? It could be hiding under some fat- Then again, some people's veins are just deeper than others. When I was in the service, and we were being taught how to insert IV's, there was one guy who was skinny as hell- And no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get a vein to pop to the surface. Generally speaking though, in order to get that real veiny look, you have to get your bodyfat percentage down pretty low. The amount of weight you lift has nothing to do with it.

the veins showing is really about low bodyfat and efficient cardiorespiratory system. Subcutaneous fat and hydration usually stop veins from showing. If you dont have that fat, it should shw quickly.. as for the width of th veins, its about hard cardio work. The more efficiently your body is pumping your blood the bigger the veins get.. for most people. If your body fat is low and still the veins are not showing, try this: When curling with dumbells, hold one arm with weight at 90 degrees and curl the the other arm with a couple reps. Then switch arms... and so on. This should help the blood flow in your arms and will widen the veins a bit.
