The Best Exercises You've Never Heard of by Nick Nilsson It's an EXE style book that is self-sufficient. Meaning, it's basically a mini-web page inside itself. Once you put in the password to unlock the book, you get the full text, navigation and videos. All within the EXE. I'm well versed in the basic exercises. But from what I can gather, these are collection of unknown but very effective exercises that don't get talked about much. It would be helpful at this point in my life to know of a few more things to do. I get tired as anybody would of doing the same exercises every day, all day without much of a change of pace. Here's what Nick starts off by saying... quote:

As he does recommend some of these as the core exercises to do for mass. And since I am on my 2nd take of that program, I do welcome the introduction of some different exercises. Where You Can Get This Program -The Best Exercises You've Never Heard Of P.S. I don't think this is necessarily for the beginner who is just grasping what the basics are. But for anybody who's worked out for a year and done the bench press, and the flyes and cannot think of any other chest exercises, then this is a welcome breath of fresh air. P.S.S. It's also not like you probably have NEVER heard of them. But more like if you did, you really wouldn't know what they were unless somebody totally explained it to you and showed you how to do it. Even if you did get the idea, it would take a while to figure it out. And there's quite a few fresh exercises in this book for each body part.

How to do it: These are really good explanations of how to perform the movement. I also noticed in just browsing around so far that many of these include self-contained videos. Which is sort of nice becuase if you expect me to do some reverse bench, towel crunch, I kinda wanna know what that looks like since I can't picture it. So visual learners will appreciate the large selection of videos which are right on the same page as the exercise being described. It's not like you have to hunt around for the video. It's right there. And text style learners will appreciate the detailed explanation. Common Errors: Always good to know how not to do something. Things to focus on to do the movement properly. I can see myself making some of these mistakes in an effort to just do the movement. Tips and tricks: Ways to grip the bar for a movement, stance, things that you might not think about. I recall one explanation in another one of Nick's books where he says upon doing the deadlift, as you start to pull up, fall backwards so that the weight of your body gets the motion started. Which is true. You'd tend to push with your heels as well. That isn't something I would just know or think about. My Plan: Go thru the sections and give you and overview of what is there and if it's just towel exercises or some stuff we can really do at home and in a real gym. Stay Tuned! Abdominal Review This sets the pace for how the sections are going to be laid out. On the left you have GO buttons. There 8 unknown exercises in this section. 3 of them have a video camera under them, so it's obvious that they include video on that page. To the right of the button is the name of the exercise with a teaser description. Clicking on the GO button will take you to each exercise as assumed and each page has pictures, with the how to do it, common errors and tips and tricks. You really can't help but understand how to do these movements. Now these ab movements look to be really effective. And they aren't in the standard core exercise groups you'll see when you browse forums. They are pretty much unknown but as I say, they look effective. I do plan on incorporating a few of them. I'll probably get to the shoulder exercises tonight as that is on my agenda. Don't be fooled. The title pretty much does not like. These do look to be the best exercises you've never heard of. I know looking at these 8 ab exercises, I've only ever heard of one before and it was in a book by Bob Paris. Stay Tuned! Where You Can Get This Program -The Best Exercises You've Never Heard Of

Shoulder Review Since it was shoulder night tonight, I checked out the exercises and picked 2 of them. 3-in-1 dumbbell rotations Dumbbell alternative presses I've not see the 3-in-1 before. But I can tell you it felt GREAT. Very good for the rotator cuffs. Included a nice video as the explanation was good but I'm more of a visual person when it comes to doing something. The alternating presses were cool. Much harder then your standard dumbbell shoulder presses. I only did 3 sets of each, none of them to failure and I could totally tell I worked out my shoulder area. It was different then the standard presses and raises. Overall, a very good first time, real gym experience with some exercises I was not familar with. In case anybody is wondering, many of these "unheard of exercises" you can do heavy. So this isn't some funky thing with tiny pink weights and crap. It's just a variation on some standard mass movements. They retain their mass making qualities but seem to bump up the intensity a bit. Arm Review Last night was arms. So I fired up the book and grabed the first exercise I saw: One hand Olympic barbell curls. Need I say more? Think about it. One hand, curling that long bar. I'll tell you one thing. There's a guy upstairs that has worked out for nearly 40 years. When I told him my plan he immdiately said "I gotta see this!" Needless to say, he followed me downstairs and I got ready. I did 8 of them with perfect form. And damn they were hard. It was like a concentration curl but much better and I could just see the bicep working. Balancing was difficult but I did it. You really have to go slow up and slow down. My forearm also got a workout. There's about 5 more exercises in that particular section. Since I liked this one a lot, I'm going to have to see if I can incorporate a lot more of them.
