A power rack, a bench, some weights, and a pull-up bar is the ultimate home gym.

That doesn't take away from the fact that you want to use a smith machine. They are horrible! Nothing is better than a power rack and a barbell.

ORIGINAL: pilotdrneo That maching does more than just a bench and weights... As mentioned it works on a rail restrcting the plane of motion, so given that fact alone it actually does a lot less than a bench, barbell and powerrack (as advised). No machine is more superior than the free weight alternative. The machine offers a very inferior method of training.

Actually, it has the capabilities to be used as free weights as well.. One side is smith and the other is free... although I do agree with everyone.. Power rack, weights and a bench would be much cheaper... ORIGINAL: kingkebabs ORIGINAL: pilotdrneo That maching does more than just a bench and weights... www.titanfitnessequipment.com You could go to a real gym for like 10 years for the price of that, and does that thing come with hot chicks in minimal amounts of clothes that like to flirt with dudes at the gym? No, I dont understand people that want to get huge in a room by themselves.

Actually it looks like you can do free weight barbell bench without any restrictions. Of course I could be wrong.

If this person bought this monstrosity, you can bet your bottom dollar that he won't be using any of the free weight features. Make the most of the freedom that your limbs allow working with the natural mechanics of the human body with free weight movements and you will reap immeasurable overall benefit. Fantasizing over a multigym is the equivalent of licking your lips in anticipation of working your arms with a wheelchair...

Maybe this person will realize that he should use more free weights. Seriously to whoever bought this thing use as many of the free weight exercises you can. They whoop machines asses.

Great machine but complete overkill for most, ridiculous except for those with alot of money who won't be moving for the next few decades. A simpler, smaller far cheaper arrangement will be quite effective-a rack, barbell, dumbells, etc., a Powertec WB-LS along with dumbbells, etc.

That is defintely the ultimate home gym. It's got everything you to do bench, squats, and deadlifts. The problem with most people is that they think if they get one of those machines and do 20 machine exercises they'll get big. Nope the best way to go is freeweights.
