Glutamine is the most common amino acid in the sequence for muscle tissue. It also happens to be the most common amino acid in MANY proteins. So while you really NEED it, you also GET it in your food. Also, there is interconversion between glutamine and glucose. If your blood sugar is low and you take glutamine, odds are most of it will be converted to glucose (a.k.a. sugar). I don't bother taking glutamine unless I am also eating carbohydrates. Carbs are a lot cheaper than glutamine power. Supposedly your body can also convert glucose into glutamine...that sounds just dandy to me, but the way to make that happen would be to have lots of carbs and not enough protein in your system, and I don't think that's the best way to build muscle. Overall, it seems to me that the "buzz" on new supplements is a lot less than it was a few years ago. Probably just as well.

I am wondering if any other bodybuilders take interest in studying things like amino acids a step further? I mean, it can't be a lost cause can it? Everything in your body is made up from amino's, they are foundation to life.

r there any studies relating glutamine and creatine to masculine sex drive? since the penis is a muscle, does the use of glutamine and creatine affect its growth?

since the penis is a muscle, does the use of glutamine and creatine affect its growth? Sorry to disappoint everyone but the penis is NOT a muscle! Penis consists of cylinders of spongy tissue. The penis does extend into the body and theres ARE muscles (the PC muscles) that surround in it there but the penis ITSELF is not a muscle. and NO, working the PC muscles wont make ure penis bigger, sorry. So dont bother trying penis curls or hanging weights off it... unless that turns you on... in which case, a 'small' penis is the least of your problems..
