Pullups  2 x (BW + 7.5 lbs)
Shoulder Press BB 2 x 135 (have quite a bit more room for more weight)

Nice!!!

Today at the gym saw a dude doing deadlifts first and then went ahead and did squats. Is it better to do deadlifts first then squats since the most weight done is by deadlifts???

I do this sometimes (squat/deadlift together) Personally I would and do squats first, simply because I feel its a more taxing overall movement on the body, and easier to mess up on form or hurt yourself.

Keep up the good work fox, and dont worry about the weight, like you said it fluctuates. its awesome your motivating guys! that alone is a great reward.

what nmoney said above in bold = i agree

it's really just personal preference.  i feel my legs need the most work, so i'm working them first.... i'm really going in accordance of what needs the most work (yes, it should be biggest to smallest muscle, but someone also told me that weakest "needs the most work" should be worked first.. and that would be my legs)

sorry if that was confusing above^

thx money

RE: The Fox's HST - ROUND 2 - Tuesday, May 13, 2008 6:02 PM
5-13-08 / Tuesday / 10 reps ------------------------   Current weight = 202.4 lbs  (I am dedicated to having my sweet potato smoothie every day.  and obviously it's working.  very happy about my progress)

Squats  2 x 140
Deads 2 x  175 (only 5 lbs more than last time, but they KICKED MY ASS... my form was good, but my back felt real tight after deads for a good 5 mins.  i need to stretch better next-time)
Incline BB Press 2 x 200 (gettin harder, close to failure, but not yet)
Pullups  2 x (BW + 10 lbs)
Shoulder Press BB 2 x 140 (gettin a bit difficult.  hopefully i have 2 more days in me)
Shrugs Smith  2 x 255 (fixed the bicep problem.  i widened my stance on the left side, and leaned forward a bit more.  form was great and felt solid)
Dips  2 x (BW + 30 lbs)
Bicep curved BB preacher curls  2 x 82.5   (knocked these out no problem today )
Standing Calves 2 x (3x45lb + 35lb on each side)

The part about legs needing the most work is not a good way of saying it lol... working the biggest muscles more is better way of saying it!!! lol it makes sense why they place it like this- legs,back,chest- which equates to the 3 big lifts which are in order like the biggest muscles on your body squat, deadlift, benchpress lol...

so yea squat first is best besides i rather do deadlift when im tired than squat when im tired.

good stuff dude..quick question

I can pull 225x15  but it takes alot of gas out of me...but like if i go lower, it gets a little " too easy". whats your take on that? should i stay low and progress? or stay at 225 and keep adding wieght. im not sure if this HST thing is for me.

when you say pull.. you mean a deadlift right?

depends on what you're wanting to train for.  i want size right now. so that's why i'm doing hst.

if you were to do a 15 rep hst cycle,   i would say to start a little bit lower than 225, and slowly add weight until you stall, OR until your form turns to crap.  when either of these happen.. change to the 10 rep routine, and progress again.
