To fix shin splints keep the heel of your foot on the ground, and raise the rest of it. It works the anterior muscle to the calf. It keeps shin splints away. You can do them weighted also, put a plate on your toe and lift.

ORIGINAL: TheSilverFox ORIGINAL: felonyr301 How is the deadlifts being done are you still doing same grip or an mixed grip? Nice on the numbers so this routine is giving out results cool would like to do something like this in the middle of the school semester for the hell of it!!! Are you already seeing your abs man with all the weight coming off. Weight just drop like nothing for you man nice. Even with some days being awful for a couple of reasons I only managed to drop from 212Lbs to 204Lbs morning weight. i've been using mixed grip. i have used it since day 1 when i started deads. right hand over.. left hand under. that's how i do it as for the abs.. YES, they are coming in nicely. i need to drop 2 or 3 % BF, but that's ok. i started having oatmeal in the mornings and noticed that my stomach put some weight back on. so i'll try to just stick with my egg whites and whey shake and see how that goes. running sucks due to the pain from shin splints. i don't understand why i have them SO bad. it's bearable, but what is wrong with me? i'm running correctly as far as i know. i have never seen anyone do deads that way. i have always done left hand over and right hand under. are u left handed? or does that just feel natural?

nope. i'm right handed. i was taught to have your dominant hand over the bar.. and the other hand under. makes sense to me, but to each his own. all i know is that IT WORKS.. and my forearms are the same size, so i'm not going to change up anything

That's odd, you can't reply to this thread on page 6 because someone was deleted as the first post. Lol.

He had to pick up my slack yesterday b/c I got 4 hours of sleep and was feeling like a zombie. I think he did a pretty good job of stepping up where I was lacking. I tried to contain my jealousy. :p

Thursday ---- 7 - 17 - 08 ---- Current weight = 196.0lbs Powercleans 3 x 5/5/5 -- 115/135/155 (last set was heavy, and my right side of my back felt tight. like i tweaked it. oh well. no biggie. i'm fine) Squats 3x5 -- 165/175/185 (felt good, but i failed on the last 2 reps of 185) Standing OH BB Press 3x5 ------ 125/130/135 (matt and i BUSTED OUT 135 a couple of times. we both needed a spot on the set of 45 pound plates. when i start to strain, i stop flexing my abs, and feel my lower back get a bit tight. need to work on that) leg press Calf Raises 3x12 -------- 4 plates +10 on each side, 4plates + 25 lb each, 4 plates + 35 lb each Side Raises 3x8 -------- 25's/25's/30's (matt had to spot me on the last few reps of the 2nd and 3rd set. the 30's were HARRRRRRRRRD) Hamstring Pulldowns 3x8 --------- 110/115/120 (barely got 8 reps on 120. i don't think i can go much higher.) Last night (wednesday) i played tennis for an hour and swallowed about a DOZEN knats. it sucked haha... and tomorrow (friday) i plan on coming home from work, and doing 3 miles of running with 12 sets of windsprints. i will be loading myself up with bcaa's before and after of course.

damn, you caught on to the powercleans pretty quick. 155, nice work. How come your failing on squats? are you doing them 1st?
No the leg press is not the same as doing squats.

yea. powercleans are so technical. gotta remember to use the calves/legs, thrust the hips, and also shrug the shoulders all at the same time. matt caught me trying to use all upper body once. 135 is do-able and feels comfortable, but 155 needs a lot of work. i love how they feel though. my shoulders are lookin great. especially my traps. got a compliment from a girl at work today about how they look bigger... (and i wear scrubs, so it's hard to tell under that type of clothing usually) as for the squats, i do them directly after powercleans. i don't mind squats at all. my form feels pretty good for the most part, and i'm taking them REAL deep. i'm honestly feeling my ass touch my lower calves most of the time. My legs are just weak i suppose (quads) and need more work. I've neglected them for many years.. and now i'm paying the price.

you squat lower than i do than. for whatever reason when i get real deep i feel it in my bad knee but when i go just to the bounce or hips below knees it feels fine, so thats what i do. I'm sure your legs will catch up eventually. just make sure your eating your peanut butter when you squatt and cottage cheese when you curl!
No the leg press is not the same as doing squats.
