Texas Method, or Madcows 5x5? - Saturday, August 01, 2009 7:20 PM ( #1 )
What would you guys say is the program of choice for progressive strength gains, the texas method, or madcows 5x5? They are slightly differant in execution but the platform is essentially the same. So which one takes the cake?

Maybe I am wrong as i've never done it before but from what i've heard texas method is for a more advanced weightlifter than that of madcow 5x5, not much though probably something of this order would work Rippetoe->madcow->texas method

Like i said though i might be completely wrong; i know Nm0ney will know though.

Do both, just do one first. Just pick one,  both are good routines.

The Texas method involves a volume, intensity, and recovery day and Bill Starr 5 X 5 (Madcow didn't create it, he just advertised it) is a routine focused on minimal movements at maximal effort.

I would consider something like westside too. But I would probably do the Texas method first.

If your talking about mad cows advanced as opposed to TM, then I would probably put them on the same level.

Pick one, follow it. Deload, do the other one
