Terrible News - Tuesday, November 11, 2008 7:54 AM ( #1 )
Yesterday I suffered what could be the worst setback for me ever. However, there is some history which makes it all come together. Back when I was 15 I played highschool football, like I'm sure many of you also did. Anyway, we were running a safety blitz (I was the safety), the left gaurd rolled off the line, hit me while my foot was planted, twisted me around and caused a partial tear in my ACL along with damage to my meniscus. My varsity season, and football career was over 3 quarters into the 4th game. I was no extraordinary athlete, I was average but always strove to be the best at what I did. I only weighed 140 lbs. and I'm sure many of you are thinking "140 and on Varsity, no way". I did have some help that was probably the cause of my downfall. Back then you could get all kinds of Andro from GNC with little questions even if you were young. I had been using a 6 type Andro stack and let me tell you, I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I began using it a month before tryouts just hopeing to give me enough edge to make the JV team instead of the freshman team. Well it gave me an edge alright, my bench went from 135 to 245 in only a month along with my leg press increasing about 150 lbs. Amazing gains by any standards and enough to make JV at tryouts. After hell week though they offered to move me to Varsity. They loved my aggression and endurance, all was due to the use of Andro. Now I'm not glorifying it in any way.It played a major roll in my injury due to the fact I was preforming beyond my body's capabilities. Anyway, I just started getting back into lifting a month in a half ago once my back had healed. I've had major joint issues ever since my use of andro, but don't get me wrong, I stopped after my first injury but feel it caused life long damage. Well back to yesterday, I was doing my cardio and was about 25 min into my run on the tredmill when my left knee ( the one I originally injured ) buckled and I collpased and got thrown off the back of the tredmill. I'm sure it looked hillarious and would definitly of laughed had it not been me. I'm very upset since my ACL is now severly torn and my meniscus rupturred. I was doing so well. The only supps I was taking were protein shakes, BCAA's, and multivitamins, along with 5 solid meals a day. My progress was what I felt as superb. 1 1/2 months in and I had 17 pounds of mass gained. I had gotten really small after my back injury. Plus with those gains I was still able to only gain 1 inch in my waist. Now I'm gonna be back to square one. If you're still reading this and have any info on exercises I can still do pre and post op they would be really appreciated. Sorry this was so long. Later.

wow, sorry to hear this!
I wonder if the andro caused too much stress to be put on the area as the muscle would have been thriving but maybe the connective tissue not keeping up with respective strength and growth?
Either way, I am really sorry and hope for a fast recovery or maybe a better diagnoses?
Did you already get the drawer test, is it for sure?
I did my left but it became stronger than my right after the surgery and reconstruction.
What a ride all that was though, you learn so much and can actually use the time to get stronger than when you left off, you can focus on training through the whole time, while rehabing the injury.
