Tennis Elbow
-
Monday, April 09, 2007 3:26 AM
Hi there guys, Id like to know if anyone who has suffered from tennis elbow can tell me how well they have managed to recover from the condition, if at all, and if they have been able to get back to lifting weights again. My elbows havent been right for around 2 months now, and I have completely stopped working out since the initial injury, and id love to know if i can expect to ever get back to lifting like i used to, and how long it is likely to take. Thanks everyone! Mike

If you use the search function, you will be able to find multiple threads on tennis elbow. Have you actually been diagnosed with tennis elbow by a proper MD? or is this just what you think is going on? The rule with tennis elbow, if your condition is really that, is that it heals slowly with time but can recur from time to time. So you need to be sensible about it, make sure that tennis elbow is what is actually going on and take it easy and stop whenver you start to aggravate it.

Yep physio says it seems like golfer's elbow mainly. i can feel it slowly getting a bit better, but still feel as though i wont be able to lift any weight for quite a while. The physio think i should be getting back into the gym tho, but i dont want to risk aggravating it again... Iv been out of the gym for 4 months, and i hate it! All i have been doing lately is lateral raises for shoulders, as i dont need to bend my elbow for these exercises. Are there any other exercise i should be able to do that wont aggravate the elbow? Thanks, Mike
