Hi, I've started taking protein supplements (drinks and bars, about 1.5g per pound of body weight), however I am finding that I get very sensitive skin/acne when I am shaving, especially around the neck area, as well as stomach upset and gas.

Is there anything I can do to help with this?

Thank you

Drop back to .7-.9 grams per pound and make sure you have enough carbs (2x as much as you take protein)  drink 12-15 cups water.

If it still continues...look at the ingredients in that stuff...look at the artificial sweeteners and colorings...lots of people are made sick by them!

Thank you --

I find that I bloat and put on weight when I up the carbs intake...

If I reduce the protein intake and gradually increase it, will I eventually adjust?

Do you want to put on muscle or are you trying to cut?

The dehydration that occurs from eating insufficient carbs is not really healthy.  In fact the Cambrige diet, a high protein low carb diet killed lots of people.

BBs do it only for a short period in our cut.  To gain you NEED the carbs.  High protein also dehydrates.

Yes, the muscle do fill out with water when you eat the carbs.

There may be an allergy to the ingredients or to the type of protein.  Switching to a clean protein and perhaps a different type (not brand but egg white vs Whey) might also take care of it.

Naturally you can eat a higher protien intake if you depleting carbs...the body just converts the protein to glucose anyway to make up for the carb short.. so then you need to eat more.  Benefit?  Yes, the lower carbs prevents insulin form rising and slows fat storage...but insulin is also responsible for muscle growth...so you don't want to do that for extended periods if you want more muscle!!!

I have very sensitive skin UNDER my chin, it itches all day while after school, usually 3-5 hours after shaving... does this sound similiar? I can't find out what it is.

Lord they are hot though, don't touch, I advise. But you are burned, and penalised, of course overdramatise and you get the prize. I am that boy baby girl and now I will end your 9 lives.

Do you shave it against the grain?
Have you tried an organic shave cream and after?
Sometimes it is one of the agents in the creams!

50% of the time i shave with an electric.

Shave against the grain? Of course, but why would it be itchy when i use an electric.

The itch is skin irritation...many times from going against the grain.

Perhaps some soothing lotion..preferably organic and botanical!

Ask the lovelies at the Co-op or health food store!
