Was wondering if anyone has had any experiences using L-Arginine. I am currently taking this supplement 3x per day (5G). First thing in the morning, 1 hour before my workout and 1 hour before going to bed. It states you must take between 9-20 grams per day based on body weight. Articles I have read state it will promote greater strength in your workouts (which I can attest to), and an increase your hgh levels. Can anyone validate this or am I being snowed ?

That's one of the main ingredients in the popular product.. Nitrix supplements.

From research, I don't see the claims of promoting strength being near where scientific study has shown minor benefits in improved circulation.

I think you are being snowed.. but I'm not a big believer in NO2 type supplements for promoting muscle growth anyway.

And I hope this doesn't apply to you, but Arginine is a favorite food of the herpes virus. Lysine will substitute itself for Arginine in the virus's "diet", thus slowing its ability to replicate. Since 20% of adults carry the virus, it's a good idea to take Lysine when you take Arginine.

Also, Arginine's NO2 effect can cause migraines in some people.

Ornothine and Arginine is pretty high doses have shows some hgh increases, but the price and possible side effects make it impractical. They've mostly fallen out of favor as bodybuilding supplements, but are still marketed.
