Supplement advice for a track and field sprinter - Saturday, May 24, 2008 1:47 PM
I'm a 200 meter and 400 meter sprinter. I'm looking for supplements to take during off season lifting. I'm wondering if i should focus on building more lean muscle? Will that be better for speed?

I'm starting something quite similiar, XC, and you know about us. We crazy....

Anyway supps for runners:

-Whey Protein(Best protein overall)
-BCAA(Best amino acid complex/quickens recovery)
-Multi-Vitamin(Deffinitely Reccomended)
-Calcium(Increases overall bone health, protects tibia)
-Caseinate Protein(Slower-digesting protein to ensure protection against muscle catabalism/assists in recovery)

No need for creatine, and the aforementioned list is what I have and it's doing just fine.

Current Supplements: Multi-Vitamin, Calcium, Vitamin C
Current Cycle: Cross Country Season

thanks for the advice guys

I was also wondering if I should take some form of nitric oxide before my workout? and also does anyone know if CytoSport fast twitch is any good? Because that would be ideal for speed to develop my fast twitch muscles

No supplement is going to activate your fast twitch muscle fibers.
