Hi everybody,

I'm just wondering if you could recommend something extra than I can take above what I am consuming presently (whey protein and flaxseed oil) that can help me mass up. Presently I weigh apx. 180lbs at a height of 6'2 (long and lean...a true ectomorph) and teach apx. 26 hrs of hip hop dancing a week keeping in mind that I try to keep my cardio during class times to a minimum) and I am consuming anywhere between 4000-4300 calories a day. In those calories I take in 270-300g of protein and 360-400g carbs. Looking for legal supplements. Some of you might recommend more food intake...the only problem with that is that I would be taking in more protein or carbs than my body acutally needs and not to mention the difficulty to eat that much in a day. I've already been told not to consume too many proteins because this can cause kidney stones. I've been on this diet for 2 months now and I've gained 5lbs but I'm afraid that with the cardio that I am doing, I will end up loosing all that I've worked so hard to gain.

Any suggestions from any of you would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the adviceSmile
Cheers

P.S. Maybe I'm being too impatient and I should give my body a chance to gain on it's own before I venture into extra supplements.Smile

5 pounds of lean muscle in 2 months is awesome. Your diet is doing well. Most of what you heard about your body not being able to process blah blah blah is bunk. Ignore it. Keep teh diet you are at though, since its working for you. When you stop gaining or worse start losing then increase calories. Peanuts and peanut butter are great bulking foods for ectos because the are calorically dense (1 cup is almost 1000 calories) and the have good fats, fiber and protein.

Also, eat and drink a lot of calories around your workout (before and after) and yoru cardio, this will keep you from becoming catabolic.

There are a ton of decent supplements out there you should look in to. AN excellent pre workout shake is Vendetta by Xtreme, which will keep you anabolix for hours. They make a BCAA and glut formula which I like to sip during workouts rather than just plain water called ICE. Post workout creatine formulas taht are good are V12 and Swole. Xtreme should be coming out with one of these as well.

Check out the prohormone board as well.

Maybe. But supplements are there to "supplement" your diet and help you out. Since it sounds like you have a very good diet, then supplements (a few) might help you keep and make a few extra gains considering you have such an active lifestyle.

There's no need to take a million of them.. but before/during/after your hip-hop classes might be the ideal time. Along with a small cooler of foods when you are finished.. Just a complex carb or something.

I agree with Twin Peak. 5lbs of muscle in 2 months is great!
