Anyway- I have a question, okay I used to be big as a kid, my waist has gone down about 75% sinc ei was little, i have a defined chest and the two sets of abs below that, but i still have some fat below them and i can't get a full six=pack, i don't eat alot ever and i do crunches every night, anythign you suggest for me to do to trim my lower stomach? I'd really appreciate it

cardio... and eat good food, you could still be only eating small amounts and it could be bad for you, run about 3 miles every day on the tredmill, thats the best advice, eat well and exercise alot.

Cardio is your best bet. Do at least 30 min 3x a week at 75% of your MHR. Try to work up to 60 min 3x a week and before you know it, the abs will be rippin! Also, good diet & nutrition are key so you don't tap your len muscles for fuel.

slow jogs for endurance, at least 30 minutes 4-6 days a week. and remember...not eating a lot does not mean that you're eating right. you should be able to ask a coach, nurse or health teacher for help determining a healthy diet.

its also a nice idea to do 30 minutesi n the mornin, and 30 minutes in the evening. This will hinder muscle growth, so its only good for ur cutting phase

usmczig- Intense cardio can steal calories that you need to bulk. In order to grow more muscle, you need lots of calories- In order to lose fat, you need less calories. That's why it's more efficient to choose one of the two goals- Otherwise, you won't see the best results in either area- Fat loss and muscle gain. Tdevil- Not eating a lot is not a good idea, believe it or not. Your body needs a certain amount of calories every day in order to function right- If your body isn't getting those calories, it can go into a sort of starvation mode where it will try to hang on to as much fat as possible- In fact, the process of digesting food burns calories itself- So if you eat five to six small meals a day, you keep your body burning calories all day long- As long as you're eating the right foods, fat gain isn't an issue. When it comes to doing a bunch of crunches every night, that's not the way to get a six pack going either- You're just exercising the ab muscles, not getting rid of the fat that covers them up. Working out a particular muscle doesn't mean you're getting rid of fat in that area, despite what all the commercials tell us- Fat is burned from all over, the body decides where to store it and where to burn it from. Get your diet right, do some cardio, and you should start losing more fat.

Ah but intense cardio that is short in duration, that primary targets fat as the fuel and properly supplemented after can actually help build more muscle for the following reasons. You will have more blood flow to the muscles as your cardio capacity increases allowing for increased nutrients. You will enjoy better pumps as the blood will flow faster to areas as your entire body responds to a better aerobic level. Can you bulk while doing cardio? Sure can. But it still does lead to a calorie deficient... IF... you eat the same. You can always just do the cardio to help burn fat, increase your metabolism and just add in some extra good clean calories to off-set the deficit. It's not the most efficient use of a pure bulk cycle but will it hinder muscle growth? That really depends on the intensity, your warm-up and the length. If you do HIIT and warm-up and cool-down you can target the fat stores better then if you just jump into and and use up your glycogen stores. Keep it short and intense. And don't be doing cardio 7 days a week. There are techniques where you can do it twice a day for about 30 days for a blitz to fat loss but that's just a technique to use and not something you do as a regular routine.

Yeah, definitely do not undereat. Like, if you're hungry, it would be crazy not to eat since your body needs nutrition. Also, every day and night, the glucose storage in your liver is primarily consumed by the brain--partly the reason why people on the no-carb Atkin's Diet are weak and tired. I also heard that intermittent instead of constant aerobic training is more effective for fat burning. I listen to music while running/jogging/walking quickly on the treadmill, which does a very good job of eliminating boredom. Jeff
