Substitute for milk for ketosis diet?
-

Hey guys i noticed that even fat free milk is 13 carbs per cup.. i use it in protein shakes.. What do you guys on ketosis use in your protein shakes (or do you not make them at all?)? Is there any good substitute for it?

protein shakes made with water? that sounds pretty gross to me.. anyone have any good recipes that either have a good substitute for milk or use water?

As far as I know nearly all protein shakes are designed to be made with water :P

Hehe, well if it's just for post workout on keto you should defo only use water. If it's for a different meal then I don't know, eat something else :P

Well yea of course your not going to be full :P But shakes aren't that good on a keto diet except post workout with water. Unless your desperate and have your shake with water and throw some olive oil in there.

I'm all about protien shakes w/milk. They are amazing.... But if you want to avoid milk, the next best thing is ICE water + chocolate flavored whey. Put water and 2 scoops of protien in the blender, then fill a cup up with ice. Pour the water + protien mix into the cup of ice and let it sit for a minute so it gets nice and cold. That s*** is really not bad at all. It has to be ice water though, otherwise it's nasty.

What's the big f'in deal about water? All you need is about 3 oz's of it for a scoop of protein powder. Put it in a shaker, shake it up, and take the 2 gulps to drink it. It doesn't even taste bad, it's just not as good as with milk. But if the whey you are using tastes good (which most of them do), then it will still taste good in water (which is tasteless). To sum it up: Don't be a little girl and drink it with water.

Agreed, take it like a man and just pound it down with whatever weird look might come over your face. Open the gullet wide to get down the unmixed chunks. A spoon comes in handy to scoop out the big cling-on globs you can't shake out of the glass. Eat those like ice cream. Yummy! ;)

NBSFighter To sum it up: Don't be a little girl and drink it with water. Actually if you really want to be bada**, lay out 2 scoops in a big line on your table and snort it. Wash it down with raw meat. That's what I do.
