Strength and Conditioning for future sport - Tuesday, October 14, 2008 12:40 PM
Currently I weigh in at about 171 and I am getting stronger.. my routine is full body strength training 3 times a week with added plyometrics and cardio 5 times a week.

I would like to be 150. Now, if I were to cut down, would my strength go up? So far, after two weeks, I have gotten amazingly stronger, and I have been a strict lifter for two years. No recreational, or just for fun BS.  All my lifts have gone up to the point I am even impressed, and I am losing fat. My diet consists of strictly lean meats, vegetables, peanuts, and water. I supplement with fish oil (about 15 grams a day) and vitamin b-12...

So getting down to 150 and all of my lifts continuing to go up - is that possible? It has been so far.

I plan on running track next year and going into mma very soon. I want to be very powerful and strong, while being light and fast.

Yeah I think it would be possible but still why would you want to lose 21lbs !
If you really think you have 21 lbs from fat, yeah sure it's possible.

If you don't have 21lbs from fat, then no forget it, you'll have to lose muscle mass then you won't lift as heavy.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

Because I am sitting at about 12 - 14% body fat (just guessing) and I want to be as lean as possible to become as strong as possible. I've seen some fast big guys, but I've seen some really really fast small, strong guys, especially a few on my high school's football and track team.

Plus, a lighter weight for me fits my overall lifestyle.

if you weigh 171 with 12-14% bf you don't have but 21 lb. of fat max and you can't have no fat..someone needs to bulk.
