Ok, I didn't know where to go, so I came here to ask my question. My biceps have been a normal shape for as long as I know. For some strange reason, after today, my biceps look like they have an ugly bump in them. Shown below, 1. is what my biceps used to be 2. what my biceps have become. no diet change, though I did a bit of tennis - my bicep is not sore at all! First of all, how did my muscle get this way, and second of all if you know, then is it possible to get my normal bicep shape back? THANK YOU.

maybe you could try some "incline hammer curls" right after your bicep routine. I red once that that excercise is working on muscle that is under between your biceps and triceps. Maybe that muscle will push your bicep back where he belongs. I don't know how true this is. I just saw that excersice and information about that muscle , and everything else is just science thinking... I hope this will work...

I have no idea, but all my life my biceps have been round. Perhaps I pulled a muscle, but I can't tell, nothing hurts. Its not genetics because there is no family case of this. should I put hot or cold? Dunno what I should do.

Follow the madcap adventures of our very own mad scientist on a very similar experience: http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/m_71640/mpage_1/amp;key_/tm.htm It sounds to me like a mild tear, but there should be a certain amount of swelling/inflammation if that were the case. This actually happened to me too when I first started lifting again last year, and I thought I had ruptured my biceps tendon. It actually went away after a few days, and my bi's are back to normal. All of which leads to a theory. What follows is pure, unapologetic speculation on my part -I'm not a doctor; if you are really concerned, go see one ASAP There is a condition called bilateral musculocutaneous nerve palsy which is basically where the nerves controlling muscle contraction shut down and refuse to fire. It's often the result of over-working a muscle, and in severe cases, it is usually preceded by a gradual loss of strength. The only remedy that I've read about is to lay off that muscle and give it a few days or weeks to normalize. My theory is that this can be a localized condition, wherein a small area of muscle fibers may be deprived of their nerve signals, and consequently, that localized area of muscle tissue just goes limp. That would explain the lack of pain and/or inflammation, and might explain why the symptom goes away on it's own after a few days or weeks of non-use. But, like I said, I'm not a doc.

Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.

Exact same thing happened to me, although I was about 14 and didn't lift weights or do anything. I was really getting scared because it was multiple bumps across the arm, and it looked like you could lay your hand over it, and have each finger go in the groove. I thought it was pretty cool actually. Maybe it's a milestone for strength or something. Mine went away though after about a week. Jasn
