Strange shoulder pain - Thursday, February 15, 2007 4:53 AM
1 Month ago I was dumbell pressing (chest) when I heard a muscle noise and felt that the muscle was out of place at the end of the rep, and back in the beginning.

After that I went to a doctor and he told me I have and inflamation in the nerve.  I took the pills and cream he told me but still with no results after 1 month.

Does it take soooo long for a inflamated nerve to heal? can't wait to traing again.  Thanks you all

yes..........but you should do conditioning, rehab type work, light.
This was caused due to poor conditioning of the stabilizers so do use bands or light weight and when you are moblie enough, being with some internal/external rotation, rhomboid squeezes, serratus exercises and stretch that pec attachment regularly.

Inflammation of the nerve?

If your doctor properly examined you, and he gave the all clear, then the best bet is to approach the weights again conservatively.

If you havent had a proper examination (i have no idea how he came to the diagnosis of inflammed nerve), then i suggest you get a second opinion.

Injuries like this which dont SEEM major have a way of coming back and biting you in the a$$ time and time again in the future.

After getting fed up of the constant pain not going away I decided to go to a decent physioterapist.  He examined me well and confirmed it was a join inflamation and told me to buy "cataflam" medicine for inflamation.  after 1 week I'm already healing :D  he gave me 3 weeks no training at all, so after 1 month I'll start lifting again.

You think that I lost some muscle mass in these 2 months with no training? Thanks :)
